Atlanta Gear Works was formed in 1988 and began stocking and rebuilding line shaft power transmission equipment for the paper industry with the mission of providing unparallel service and value. Our company has since grown to include services for all gearing needs and repairs, including reducers, gearboxes, drives, power transmission equipment, field service and inspections.
Our reputation was be built upon high quality gear and gearbox repairs, superior products, and responsive service to a variety of facilities, including paper mills, power plants, steel mills, cement mills, chemical processors, fiber mills, and waste water plants.
Atlanta Gear Works is strategically located just 50 minutes north of Atlanta, Georgia. This allows us the ability to respond quickly to any emergency gearbox repair or service call – in many cases, within hours of receiving the call.

Since forming in 1988, our mission has remained the same and Atlanta Gear Works has continued to add services and capabilities to better serve our customers.
Our mission is to be the company of choice to our customers by providing competitive products and services delivered by an experienced team of professionals committed to excellence in customer service, workplace safety, community leadership and shareholder value.
In 1999 we moved into our new building situated on 2.3 acres in Dawsonville, Georgia. In 2005 we added onto our building in order to better serve our customers. Our building is now 20,000 square feet with a 10-ton overhead crane, 5-ton overhead crane and several jib cranes.
